uninstallation - How to tell if SQL Server components are used before uninstalling them

Question

I have a server which has a SQL Server 2012 installation and I need to uninstall it. I have code for generating the removal using MsiInv.exe. I see the following services installed (SQL server, SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Browser, SQL Server Integration Services 11.0 and SQL Server VSS Writer). SQL Server VSS Writer is the only one running. However, how can I tell if any application on server or remotely relies on any of those components?
