I am trying to configure a new linux machine. The problem is, our build process is dependent on the now bit-rot, and no longer maintained, ansible-container
.
The newest version of docker-ce
and docker-ce-cli
that work peacefully with ansible-container
are
docker-ce:amd64=5:18.09.6~3-0
docker-ce-cli:amd64=5:18.09.6~3-0
The problem is that this version is no longer available from apt:
? ~ apt-cache madison docker-ce
docker-ce | 5:20.10.2~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:20.10.1~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:20.10.0~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.14~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.13~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.12~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.11~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.10~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
docker-ce | 5:19.03.9~3-0~ubuntu-focal | https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu focal/stable amd64 Packages
I can access the source code for docker 18.09 at https://github.com/docker/docker-ce/releases/tag/v18.09.6
but would prefer not to tackle the project of building this version from scratch. Does anyone know of any alternative methods of installing docker-versions that are no longer available via apt? Is there perhaps an archive somewhere that i can access the .deb files?
Any information would be greatly helpful.
