python - Unable to convert csv image file into a numpy using genfromtext

Question

Working with python, I am using MNIST dataset saved as a CSV. My first column is labels followed by 28*28 columns for pixel values and I am trying to load my csv into a numpy using genfromtext followed by reshaping into the required dimensions.

For some reason however, I get an error saying ValueError: cannot reshape array of size 32970785 into shape (1,28,28)

My code goes as follows:

my_data = np.genfromtxt(filepath, delimiter=',')
dataset=np.reshape(my_data,(-1,1,28,28))
