reactjs - What is the recommended way to modify render result in global?

Question

I want to modify the image link to webp url when meet conditions, not only tag img, but also the background style. Now I wrap the React.createElement function like below:

const createElement = React.createElement
React.createElement = function(tag, props, children) {
 if(tag === 'img' || props?.style?.backgroundImage) {
    return createElement(Wrapper, {tag, props, children})
 }
 return createElement(tag, props, children)
}

It's a really hack way, but I do have so many entries need to modify. So I need a way to modify render result in global
