macos - Why do some apps have extra parameter in top/htop?

Question

When I run htop on my MacbookPro and Macbook Air (High Sierra) I see a bunch of commands with an extra parameter. It's a pseudo random string like -psn_x_xxxxx after the app's name.

Any idea why?
