Android Jetpack Navigation Component with Splash Fragment - how to keep Bottom Navigation View Fragment UI state?

Question

I am using Jetpack Navigation Component with single activity architecture. I have a Splash Fragment where i must do some critical checks and initializations. Upon the completion of the operation in my app presents a screen with Bottom Navigation View.

After googling, I followed

1. This article for Splash Fragment integration and
2. This article for bottom navigation view integration.

I retained the data of Bottom Navigation Fragments using Shared ViewModel but I am failing to retain their UI states (something like this).
