Github Pages: point a subdomain to a sub directory

Question

I have set up github pages and connected my domain to point to the dist directory. All works. Thus:

mydomain.com points to the dist directory's index.html

I have a subdirectory within dist named docs. I can access it via mydomain.com/docs. This too works.

I would like that docs.mydomain.com point to mydomain.com/docs. I could not find the appropriate steps to achieve this. Thanks
