javascript - How to dynamically update the labels on series of images on scroll?

I want to make an web-app similar to this: http://xrayhead.com/theatlas.php?id=hip

It looks like the coder manually went in and did absolute positioning for each label in javascript. This looks so time-consuming. Any suggestions on a more efficient way of doing this?
