WindowHandles does not work Selenium Alpha 7

Question

I have always used WindowHandles to check if there is an instance of ChromeDriver open but this has stopped working. When I try to get WindowHandles.Count the exception below occurs

I am using the Selenium Alpha 7 version and I think something has changed, as I have always used it this way.
