while loop - How to get integers from input and break after receiving string

Question

I need to read integers until i get the string: 'The End'. And then print the sum of all received ints.

Here i have a code:

i = 0

while True:
    a = input()
    i += int(a)
    print(i)
    if a == 'The End':
        break

It perfectly collecting all coming integers, however, when i put the string (any) it fails as it expects to get only integers. How do i write the proper break condition?
