python - Append from Excel to Excel in a Loop - Assertion Error

Question

I am trying to append from an excel file to another excel using a loop, and it shows assertion error although I am adding the same number of retrieved headers as columns in the output sheet

       for rowCounter in range (70,80):
            for colCounter in range (2,8):
                row.append(xls[I["sheet2"]].iat[rowCounter,colCounter])

      sheet.append(row)

and the error I am getting is at the line of the following command:

        assert len(row) == len(O_COLS)
