Looking for the quick simple answer to storing simple dropdown (or checkbox, whichever is easier) selection into my database.
Example: I have the user input their hour, min (for time) and then dropdown select AM or PM. I want the choice to save into the database when they hit submit. The other 15 fields of the form submit correctly, except my dropdown choices. Right now, I have "-" as the selected
default and it is storing as NULL in my table (as I want it to if "-" is left as the choice). I'm assuming I need a Java
code?
This is the code part of my form for the dropdown:
<div class="col-md-1">
<label for="arrive-arrive-ap">Select</label>
<select id="arrive-arrive-ap" class="form-control">
<option selected>-</option>
<option>AM</option>
<option>PM</option>
</select>
</div>
This is the processing end of it:
$arrive_arrive_ap = $_GET["arrive-arrive-ap"];
$arrive_arrive_ap = addslashes ($arrive_arrive_ap); //I know this is unnecessary with a dropdown, but just to be safe..
//Then it is inserted into my DB with a prepared statement.
