sass - Sharing of SCSS files

Question

This is a development environment question only.

Is it possible to host common SCSS files that define various style variables on a local http server and then import those SCSS files to multiple applications (ie) multiple developers.

We currently use git, but I'm looking an answer to this particular question please. My testing so far has not been successful. We are building numerous Angular applications for a client that all use some common styling with many variables defined.

Scenario.
Tomcat serving a SCSS file 'common.scss' at 192.168.13.13
Basic angular app importing the above file into 'style.scss'

Tested
A - Within 'style.scss
    1 - @import 'http://192.168.13.13/common.scss'
    2 - @import 'http://192.168.13.13/common'
    3 - @import url(http://192.168.13.13/common)
    4 - @import url(http://192.168.13.13/common.scss)

B - Within angular.json
    1 "stylePreprocessorOptions" : {
       "includePaths": "http://192.168.13.13"
     }
    Within 'style.scss
    1 - @import 'common.scss'
    2 - @import 'common'
