Environment for Angular/Firebase in Visual Studio

Question

Recently, I've been trying to configure an angular app (from the demo angular project) in Visual Studio and host it on Firebase before beginning. I have been running into a few issues surrounding a few things; I'm on a mac book pro (m1). I'm looking for some general advice.

1. When downloading environments, my account is not the root. Should I start working in the root to avoid this altogether, or download in the root and then come back to my user account? Pros/Cons
2. How difficult/how much time to set something up like this is normal. It seems between node and angular, its taking quite sometime and continue to hit road bumps. I'm using this forum to google errors as they come, but keep having dependency issues etc.
