Jenkins: How to configure junit plugin?

Question

trying to get Jenkins configured to run my spring boot tests.

So far I have 3 steps in the pipeline:

1. init: mvn clean
2. build: mvn -Dmaven.test.failure.ignore=true install (also tryed mvn test, same result)
3. testreport: TestResults configured with: target/surefire-reports/**/*.xml (according to a tutorial I thought this is a standard path where jenkins/mvn whoever... puts reports, empty results are allowed, rest is blank)

The build runs successfull, BUT: the testreport step output is:

Recording test results None of the test reports contained any result

This is my project structure (if this is even important for Jenkins):

I have one testcase which runs normal locally in eclipse. But Jenkins seems not to store the results. How shall I configure the Plugin in order to see Testresults?
