python - Errno 13 Permission denied when installing anaconda to mac

Question

I was trying to update a package and it wouldn't work so I decided to update anaconda-navigator, which wouldn't work either so I found a suggestion to deactivate with conda deactivate then followed by conda update anaconda-navigator. Now my anaconda-navigator is gone and I'm trying to install it again but I'm getting [Errno 13] Permission denied.

Things I've tried that result in the same error:

• conda install anaconda
• conda install anaconda followed by conda update --all
