flask - Arrow function in Promise does not work with semicolon (Javascript)

response => response.json() means response => { return response.json(); } for simplicity.

So, if you want to use curly bracket, use return.

.then(response => {
  return response.json();
})
.then( data => {
  console.log(data["hello"]);
})
