swift - Using XCTest to get pasteboard from real device

Question

I'm using Swift and trying to get the pasteboard from a real device under test.

In the application i have the following code:

UIPasteboard *mypaste = [UIPasteboard generalPasteboard];
pasteboard.string = @"hello";

To access this in my tests on a real device, I've tried:

UIPasteboard.general.hastrings()

I read that the app needs to run in the foreground so I also tried:

app.activate()
UIPasteboard.general.hastrings()
    

but it always returns false when testing on a real device. It does work on a simulator however.
