ubuntu - Cannot access website from ip address but can from domain name

Question

I have deployed a web site in my ubuntu server using nginx. The issue i'm facing is although I can access the web site, my client cannot access the web site. He's getting 522 Connection timeout issue. And another thing i noticed is whenever i deploy websites in the server i can access the website using the droplet ip address as 189.***.***.**:3000 as the app runs on port 3000. But in this instance it's not working. But when i access from the domain name i can go to the website.

my nginx config

server {
  server_name mydomain.com www.mydomain.com;
  location / {
    proxy_pass http://localhost:3000;
  }
}

Above config works as i'm able to goto mydomain.com and view my website. The issue is i cannot do the same using the ip address. I'm getting site cannot be be reached error. I think this is the issue my client also facing because he cannot even view the site using domain name.
