I have three programs open on an Ubuntu 18.04 system : a terminal (gnome), a pdf and an instance of the brave browser. Something weird started happening. Every time I switched to the pdf file using alt+tab warning messages like these started appearing on the terminal :
** (evince:15742): WARNING **: 04:16:04.557: Error setting file metadata: No such file or directory
** (evince:15742): WARNING **: 04:16:04.557: Error setting file metadata: No such file or directory
** (evince:15742): WARNING **: 04:16:04.557: Error setting file metadata: No such file or directory
** (evince:15742): WARNING **: 04:16:04.557: Error setting file metadata: No such file or directory
** (evince:15742): WARNING **: 04:16:04.579: Error setting file metadata: No such file or directory
Which file is it talking about ? It's weird if it is talking about the pdf file since the pdf obviously does exist : the warning messages are triggered when I bring it into focus.
How do I get rid of the warning messages ? I don't mean sending stderr to /dev/null. I would love to know the root cause of the symptoms and fix it.
