e commerce - Woocommerce - Get_Excerpt - Shortcode

Question

I'm working on a Woocommerce & Brizy based site. Try to add 'short_description' line to the shop (product archive) page. I'm able to add a line of shortcode and it displays. The issue I'm having is that it pulls the wrong excerpt. Haven't been able to get a correct call/syntax that corrects it!

Excerpt shortcode function

function get_the_excerpt_sc(){
 $short_description = apply_filters( 'woocommerce_short_description', $post->post_excerpt );
    return get_the_excerpt($short_description);
}
add_shortcode( 'get_the_excerpt', 'get_the_excerpt_sc' );
