python - creating pictures with numpy and pylab.imshow

Question

I've got to create an 100x30 numpy array and have to insert 15 trees in different hights( pixelartstyle, like this:

((00100)
 (01110)
 (11111)
 (00800)
 (00800))

Therefore i first have to create a function that creates this tree, improve it so i can vary the hight and the position and then insert 15 trees into my 100x30 "canvas"array. Can someone give me a hint how i can do this? Thanks a lot

My code tho this state:

def baum(size,colour):
    for i in range(0,size):
        print (i)
        a[(30-i),(size/2+1)]=colour
        
baum(5,1)
