visual studio code - How would incremental update for LSIF (Language Server Index Format) work?

Question

I think I understand how LSIF (Language Server Index Format) can be created from a project pretty well. But I am curious if incremental updates is possible since there could be many edge cases (export, etc).

Also, are there any git repos out there that already support incrementally creating LSIF?
