amazon web services - SSL AWS Elastic IP address and internal applications

Question

I've been tasked with moving an internal Laravel application over to AWS EC2 instances. But I am stuck on a few aspects of it.

Because it is an internal application set, we don't and would prefer not to go with the process of getting a domain name for it. We do have an Elastic IP address set on the instance and would prefer to continue with that route, but then we hit one more problem.

As we would like to process payments through this application, an SSL is required. How would one go about assigning an SSL to an Elastic IP for an EC2 instance, or is there a better way of going about this?
