unity3d - How can I display images from hard disk in my main menu?

Question

In my main menu and I want between the character and the black image with the text to display images from my hard disk and if there are too many images then using some scroll bar. This is a screenshot of my main menu :

And this is the images on my hard disk. I want to display the images and under each image to display the name and the date and time like it is on the hard disk :

The main goal is to display the images in the main menu and then when moving the mouse over the images each image it will make the image brighter. The problems is I'm not sure if to use for each image a canvas or a panel and how to make a scroll bar and the brighter effect.
