python - How to extract a dbf stored in a gdb file without using ArcPy

I am able to extract vector files (File Geodatabase Feature Class) from a .gdb using Fiona python library. But now I am looking at extracting dbf files stored in the .gdb. Is there an equivalent library to extract .dbf files without using ArcPy or being dependent on ESRI products. Reason why? An internal decision. ... Thx.
