MongoDB transaction behavior

Transaction {

Read a document which matches a criteria (field1 == null), find id

Update the document with id found above, update field1 to something

}

In my case transaction T1 and T2 both pick same document

T1 updates the document and then T2 updates the document.

Shouldn't T2 throw exception if it was updated in middle of transaction?

Its a problem for me because once T1 updates it, it no longer fits the criteria in filter used in first step.
