virtual machine - How do I install an audio device in VMWare Windows 95?

Question

I'm trying to play some old games. However the virtual machine does not seem to recognize an audio device. The game wont run (invalid page fault in module XSOUND32.DLL at 0137:01421679.) and neither will any other sound files. The game's documentation says it just needs "MPC2-compatible sound card with speakers or headphones" so what do I need to install to get this to work?
