python - Finding if an object has passed a Certain Region between Video frames__ OpenCV

Question

I’m new here and I need some help. I have used TensorFlow object detection API and other methods to detect a basketball and a hoop in videos. I wanted to ask if there was a way to know if the basketball has passed region A and B between 2 frames, considering that I know the coordinates of the basketball and these regions. It will be for shot detection. I just started using OpenCV and Python so I'm not too sure how if there's a way? Please look at the picture attached:
