reactjs - Assign function to object value with executable onClick

Question

I am kind of new to the whole react class component structure and trying to figure out how to connect a custom function to an onClick prop of a custom button component.

The action property invokes a onClick within the button component but I want that onClick to trigger the customAction.

Any help or suggestions are very welcome :)

  CustomNodeInner({ node, otherProps }) {
    const Component = Cards[node.component];
    const properties = node.props;
    if (node.component === 'QuestionCard') {
      if (properties.buttons.length > 0) {
          properties.buttons[0].action = this.customAction()
