jestjs - How do I deal with localStorage in jest tests?

I keep getting "localStorage is not defined" in Jest tests which makes sense but what are my options? Hitting brick walls.

However, we use ES2015 syntax and I felt it was a little cleaner to write it this way.

class LocalStorageMock {
  constructor() {
    this.store = {};
  }

  clear() {
    this.store = {};
  }

  getItem(key) {
    return this.store[key] || null;
  }

  setItem(key, value) {
    this.store[key] = String(value);
  }

  removeItem(key) {
    delete this.store[key];
  }
}

global.localStorage = new LocalStorageMock;
