Alternative:

Array.from(new Set(a));

Old response. O(n^2) (do not use it with large arrays!)

var arrayUnique = function(a) {
    return a.reduce(function(p, c) {
        if (p.indexOf(c) < 0) p.push(c);
        return p;
    }, []);
};
