machine learning - Is log transformation necessary before applying z-score normalization for regression model?

Question

I am working with regression models. I am having skewed dataset for the analysis which needs normalization but I am not sure to decide whether log-transformation is necessary before applying z-score. Also if it is necessary then whether it needs to be separately done for the target variable as well along with the predictor variables?
